Residents of Sandpiper Care Home were delighted by a recent visit from the Alford Fire Station. This month, they had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the daily operations of the Alford Community Fire Station. Exploring the fire truck and the array of equipment used, they even had the chance to try on safety gear and uniforms! The visit was a hit, leaving residents eager for more community engagements in the future.
At Sandpiper Care Home, community involvement is a cornerstone of our ethos. Currently, we’re rallying food bank donations to support those in need within the Alford community. Regularly, we join the Storehouse Church in Alford, which graciously extends its services to residents who may find it challenging to attend in person. Additionally, residents enjoy frequent trips to garden centres to select plants and flowers for our home.
Choosing Sandpiper Care Home for your loved one doesn’t mean leaving behind their community values. Instead, it fosters and encourages their active participation in community endeavours, perhaps even in ways they hadn’t explored before.
