Residents at Sandpiper are delighted by the thoughtful contributions of Elenore, mother of Lifestyle Coordinator Victoria, who recently began volunteering her talents to enhance the lives of the home’s residents.
When Elenore expressed interest in helping the home, team members mentioned a need for new clothes protectors for residents. Without hesitation, Elenore enthusiastically took on the project, carefully crafting beautiful and functional garments for residents to enjoy. She personally delivered the finished pieces along with a homemade jar of jam, adding a sweet, personal touch to her gift.
The residents were overjoyed with the unique and thoughtful designs of Elenore’s creations, which sparked an idea for her to make regular visits to the home. Elenore, moved by the residents’ gratitude, offered to return regularly for craft sessions, hoping to share her love of sewing with everyone at the home.
In her first visit, Elenore created a lovely cushion, which was later raffled as a prize. A delighted resident won the cushion and now takes it everywhere, even bringing it to the dining table at mealtimes, a testament to how meaningful Elenore’s gifts have become.
Residents are thrilled by Elenore’s visits and look forward to many more craft sessions. The ongoing support from family members like Elenore reflects the caring community engagement at Sandpiper, where every effort is made to enrich the lives of residents in warm and meaningful ways.
