Lois Wyse once said “ A good friend is a connection to life – a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world”.
Our resident Elsie was visited today by her best friend of ninety years! Muriel. They have been inseparable for most of their lives, they were bridesmaids at each other’s weddings, and godmothers to each other’s children, and sadly both lost their mothers five days apart. Even their children have formed lasting bonds of friendship.
The wedding photograph is of Muriel’s wedding on the 20th September 1952 in Hammerton Gardens in Horncastle, and the wedding photographer was Cyril Robinson who set up Robinson’s electrical shop on the high street.
Muriel is a wealth of knowledge of local information and has an exceptional memory about the town, it’s people, and it’s events. It was a real pleasure speaking with her today and is an honor to watch their beautiful friendship continue after all these years.
