The Year 1 and 2 School Councillors from St Faith’s Infant & Nursery School paid Cloverleaf Care Home a visit, and it turned out to be a delightful afternoon. We set up various tables with coloring pictures, puzzle sheets, color-by-number activities, and storybooks. The children eagerly joined the residents at each table, immersing themselves in the activities and fostering meaningful conversations that were punctuated by shared smiles and laughter.
As the session drew to a close, we gathered for some singing time, with the children enthusiastically serenading the residents with their favorite songs. One of the children confided in their teacher, saying, ‘I don’t think I have ever made anyone feel that happy before.’
It was a heartwarming experience for everyone involved, reinforcing the joy and connection that can be found in intergenerational interactions.
