Avocet House launches Dementia Cafe

This month, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our in-house Dementia Cafe, a welcoming space for our residents, families, and the community to come together over a cuppa and cake. Our cafe provides a supportive environment where guests can seek advice, share experiences, engage in meaningful conversations, and participate in various activities.

In addition to our Dementia Cafe, we’ve also registered with the Forget-me-not Chorus, a wonderful charity that brings the joy of singing to individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. We recently had our first session together, singing alongside other homes live across the internet.

The Forget-me-not Chorus sessions have been a delightful addition to our activities, fostering connection and enjoyment through music. We’re excited to continue participating in these sessions every Tuesday afternoon in April.

As for our Dementia Cafe, you can join us every other Wednesday for more camaraderie, support, and uplifting moments. We look forward to creating many more meaningful experiences together!
