This week Beeston Rise resident Harry had a wonderful afternoon, revisiting his old Rugby Club, Nottingham Casuals, in Beeston along with Lifestyle Co-ordinator Selina.
Nottingham Casuals RFC originated from the Old Paviours RFC. In 1922, due to domestic disagreements a group broke away from the parent club and formed a new club, Nottingham Casuals RFC. For two years the club played their home games at Whitemoor Lane, Old Basford, but University Park in 1924. Harry played for Nottingham Casuals circa 1968/1969 and today he caught up with a few other ‘old timers’. It was a lovely afternoon reminiscing and catching up with old friends, they even managed to dig out an old Rugby shirt out of the archives for Harry.
At Beeston Rise we aim to get to know each and every resident, as well as their families and friends to create a home that truly embraces their ideas, thoughts, feelings and wishes. It is vitally important to us that we encourage our residents to continue taking part in activities and social events that they always have done. Here at Beeston, we want to play a crucial role in facilitating a better standard of life for our residents. Their happiness and wellbeing is at the centre of all we do.
Harry’s daughter commented, ‘Thank you for organising this for dad and a big thank you to Selina for taking him.’
