Christine and Garbash

Our residents Christine has devoted her life going round to primary schools with a little friend Garbash telling stories with a difference. Christine and Garbash (her pet puppet dragon) have told many interactive stories to young children.

Christine has struggled with the decision that she and Garbash can no longer do this, so her daughter carried this tradition on.

As we had heard many lovely stories about Christine and Garbash we arranged with Christine’s daughter for her to bring Garbash in as a surprise

Christine was so surprised and was over the moon when we asked if she felt up to an adventure with Garbash by telling their stories to a couple of our residents.

Here at Avocet we place our residents well-being at the heart of all we do. Seeing Christine’s smile when she saw her friend was priceless and now, she uses Garbash to interact with the staff daily. It has been brilliant to see a positive change in Christine.
