Valentine’s Day, the day of love, when we celebrate our significant other with grand gestures, chocolates, flowers, and gifts.
Cloverleaf Care Home celebrated Valentine’s Day with great fervour. The week started with a discussion on ‘What does love mean to you?’. As a reminder of the true meaning of love, a tree was placed in the reception area. Favourite photos of those who hold a special place in the hearts of our residents were placed on this tree, with quotes answering the question ‘What does love mean to you?’.
On February 14th, our residents were then treated to a fabulous love themed party, with dancing, singing and of course the amazing ukulele players from J’Ukebox Lincoln.
Our residents enjoyed a day of celebrating all things love. The poem below was written to describe the day’s events, and we couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
Valentine’s Day 2023
The party was a lovely do,
We danced from dawn till late,
Or so it seemed to my old,
Legs and lungs and upper plate.
The party was a lovely do,
The duo loud and droll,
Song from the sixties we were told,
So all danced rock and roll.
The party was a lovely do,
All swing and swaying hips,
And as the music ebbed and flowed,
The partners tightened hips.
The party was a lovely do,
And the music stopped at last,
For now t’was time to have a rest,
And nibbles and a glass.
The party was a lovely do,
‘twas time as last to go,
To get back to our super rooms,
To rest with hearts aglow.
