Cloverleaf celebrates joyful Chinese New Year Festival

To mark the joyous occasion of the Chinese New Year, Cloverleaf Care Home revelled in a delightful week filled with engaging Chinese-themed activities. Residents enthusiastically embraced the festivities, culminating in a vibrant celebration that brought good fortune and happiness into their lives.

Throughout the week, residents savoured the culinary delights of Chinese cuisine by making spring rolls, which added a tasty twist to their afternoon tea. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as everyone contributed to the creation of beautiful dragon bunting, adorning the halls with bright colours and cheerful spirits.

The visits from the children of St Faith’s Church of England Infant & Nursery School brought an extra spark of joy. Together with the residents, they crafted enchanting Chinese lanterns, sparking laughter and creativity. The community spirit continued as residents made Chinese flags, exploring their zodiac signs in a fun and enlightening way, proudly displaying their corresponding animals.

The festivities along the week built up to a splendid Chinese Café event. Cloverleaf was transformed into a vibrant restaurant filled with stunning decorations that delighted guests of all ages. Families were invited to join in the celebration, enjoying delicious dishes such as prawn toast, Chow mein, and sweet & sour chicken on a specially arranged lunch menu.

To further infuse the fun, chopsticks were made available for dining, and lucky red envelopes offered coins and fortune scratch cards as charming gifts. It was a touching scene filled with laughter, connections, and joyful memories cherished by residents and loved ones alike.
