This week Hunters Creek Care Home had the privilege of being visited by Donna’s Animal Rescue.
Donna’s Animal Rescue is a non-Profit organisation set up to aid animals in need. They support rescue and rehome small animals.
The animals under Donna’s care include, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, reptiles, and more.
The activity had a great impact on our residents, animal therapy can be used for many reasons, the most common benefits include improving self-esteem, and reducing anxiety and stress. Our residents had a wonderful time cuddling and fussing over our animal friends.
Lifestyle coordinator Sammy commented ‘Our residents always enjoy a visit from animals and enjoy petting them, the smiles are always a reminder of how much these small animals make a person’s day, animals don’t need words to put a smile on our residents faces. They absolutely loved their visit from Donna’s animal rescue and are already looking forward to visits in the future’.
