At Cloverleaf Care Home we recognise the importance of keeping our bodies active, not just to maintain strength and flexibility, but to help improve mood and self-esteem.
Each week at Cloverleaf we try out fun and exciting ways to keep fit, this week we gave Dough Disco a go.
Dough Disco involves moulding play dough in time to music and performing different actions such as rolling it into a ball, flattening it, putting each individual finger into the dough, rolling it into a sausage and squeezing it, so it’s a great way to help strengthen fine motor muscles.
Residents had fun taking part in this activity to 60’s music and some residents even got up to have a dance.
Hayley, the Activity lead commented ‘We loved this! Finger exercises, dancing, music therapy, a bit of a sing a long, so many ways to encourage everyone to get involved and have some fun.’
