Every last Saturday of the month from 1 to 4 pm, Hunters Creek Care Home becomes the vibrant host of family day. The concept behind this recurring event is to unite residents with their loved ones, providing an opportunity for shared enjoyment through crafts, games, and an afternoon filled with fun. The mere presence of family members has a profound impact on the mood and well-being of the residents, making family day a cherished occasion.
Whether family visits are frequent or more sporadic, the residents eagerly anticipate these moments, especially when it involves their own kin. Such visits offer a chance for residents to connect with those they may not see regularly, allowing them to catch up, share stories, and relish the joy of reminiscing about cherished memories.
Home Manager Rachel, the guiding force behind the scenes, shared her perspective. She emphasised the importance of understanding both residents and the team, recognising their unique qualities and quirks. According to Rachel, creating a happy, fun, and caring environment revolves around the people involved. Ensuring everyone works towards a common goal is paramount in supporting individuals to lead happy and fulfilled lives. Rachel firmly believed that the quality of care residents receive is deeply rooted in the relationships built with residents, their families, health professionals, and the dedicated team.
So come along and join us this Saturday from 1 to 4 pm to discover the delights we have in store for this month! Let’s share in the joy and make family day a celebration of happiness and connection at Hunters Creek Care Home.
