Father’s Day June 18th 2023

Toray Pines celebrated Father’s Day by arranging a pub get together for all Father’s, Grandfather’s, and Great Grandfather’s. There were pub songs to sing along to, alcohol beverages to toast with and a lovely selection of delicious biscuits to enjoy.

All the gentlemen then received a gift of a mug, which the lovely ladies at Toray Pines had prepared for them the day before. The mugs were wrapped in cellophane and carefully decorated with a bow. Herbert was overwhelmed with his gift, He said ‘Thank you so much, this is very unexpected and greatly appreciated. It’s very thoughtful of you all.’

The men opened their gifts, filled their mug with larger or shandy and then sang along to the pub songs.

There were some family visitors that joined in the fun too.  John’s son Jason sat with John and opened some cards and gifts. John happily sang along to the songs. John used to run a pub and these songs were favourites at the pub. Jason was quite overwhelmed seeing John reminiscing about his pub days.

Rodger’s son and granddaughter visited and had fun singing along too. It was lovely to see a young lass singing along to the old pub songs with Rodger. All in all a fun day was had by everyone.

It’s always a joy to celebrate the special events here at Toray Pines and even better when all our residents enjoy themselves too, especially when we have families and friends visit too.
