I started working in the care sector over 14 years ago. My first job was in domiciliary care, supporting vulnerable adults in their own homes, with all their daily living skills and personal care.
In 2012 I was successfully appointed into a caring role in a residential care home, which I loved and progressed into a supervisory position, as senior care, where I enjoyed taking on additional responsibilities, including teaching and supervising new team members how to provide the best care to our residents.
Throughout my career I have always tried to better myself and learn as much as possible about my chosen profession, which enables me to provide quality care to vulnerable people, at the highest possible standards but also support other members of the team to be the best version of themselves. I am currently partway through my NVQ level 5 in management, which I am very proud of.
My managerial experience began in 2018, when I became the responsible person for the management of medication in a 66 bed, luxury care service and from there I progressed to Deputy manager, Care manager and latterly the Home Manager of the same service that I helped commission in 2017 and was instrumental in the home attaining a CQC Outstanding rating.
The journey I have been on, so far, has been both enlightening and uplifting, always meeting any new challenges head on but also celebrating the many successful times together. I feel incredibly proud and privileged to have worked alongside some of the best people in the caring business and together we have made a difference to the most vulnerable people in our care.
To be appointed as Home Manager and to be able to take Beeston Rise Care Home forward, is indeed, a wonderful opportunity, which has afforded me to put all my existing knowledge, skills and experience to good use. I pledge my enduring support to the team, and together we will be able to enhance the lives of the residents who live here.
