Making dreams come true at York Manor Care Home

At York Manor Care Home, we recently made a cherished dream come true for our lovely resident, Lily. Accompanied by our wonderful carer Gemma, who is also a skilled skater, Lily took to the ice at York’s Winter Wonderland. She was absolutely thrilled, describing it as one of the best experiences and expressing her excitement to do it all over again.

Bundled up in our warmest coats, residents and team members embarked on this magical outing, made possible by the fantastic team at Myley Tours. Our driver, Paul, went above and beyond to make the trip extra special—thank you, Paul, for being such a gem!

The day was filled with festive cheer as we sipped warm drinks, admired the twinkling Christmas lights, and even posed with an elf for a fun photo opportunity. The highlight, of course, was our visit to the ice rink, where laughter and joy filled the air.

It’s safe to say everyone had a fabulous time—and now we’re already asking: where to next?
