Residents at Meadows Park Care Home had a busy few days, preparing for and celebrating the Kings Coronation, in the days leading up to the bank holiday weekend, residents decorated their home with red, white and blue. Balloons, banners, Union Jacks, and photos of King Charles III could be seen around the home.
To start the weekend off our residents watched the Coronation and then enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment with live music, dancing, cake, and celebrations.
The weekend did not finish there, celebrations continued with an afternoon tea party on Sunday afternoon where family and friends had been invited to join us.
The home would like to give a special thanks to the catering team for the amazing food and drinks provided, especially the incredible cake!
Our lifestyle team commented ‘It was a brilliant weekend; we had a great time celebrating the Kings Coronation and it was so nice to hear the music playing throughout the building.’
One relative commented ‘It was a lovely afternoon, you all do a wonderful job, thank you.’
On Monday 8th May we also had KEVIGs CCF come to visit us, as we carried on our Coronation celebrations for King Charles III. We were so pleased to welcome them back into our home. They were quick to join in various games out and hand out our homemade cupcakes. Paula Byram our Front of House Manager said “It was amazing to see the next potential armed forces, meet and share knowledge with our veterans. To see the younger generation serving the older generation, by giving up their time to talk and play games is such a fulfilling experience for all.”
