Music and movement are vitally important for every age group. The benefits include both health benefits and mental wellbeing.
The residents of Cloverleaf absolutely love music and dancing, this week the lifestyle team and residents have been practicing their dance moves and actions. Party songs have filled the home to encourage residents to take part in physical exercise.
Lifestyle Lead Hayley commented, ‘This has been a whole team effort, even the Care Assistants have been getting involved, which has been a huge support and helped to engage even more residents. ‘
Some residents enjoyed sitting in their chairs swaying from side to side whilst clapping along to the music. Whilst others have been up and about.
Care Assistant, Geeta commented, ‘I had a great time with our lovely residents. Everybody loved getting involved and had a fantastic time.’
Residents also took part in their first ever singing club afternoon. After a recent suggestion from the residents in their monthly meeting, Lifestyle Lead Hayley arranged their first session. A selection of songs chosen by the residents included, ‘Jerusalem’, ‘We’ll meet again’, ‘The white cliffs of Dover’, ‘You are my sunshine’, ‘These boots are made for walking’ and ‘Oh when the saints’.
The afternoon was a huge hit and residents are already making their song selections for next week.
