In early June, Cedar Falls launched a new initiative—the Poetry Club. On the first day, residents gathered in a circle in the lounge, eagerly sharing and reading their favorite poems. Many were well-versed in classic poems and had specific requests, but one poem quickly emerged as the club’s favorite: “The Golden Daffodil.” This piece resonated deeply with many of the residents, sparking heartfelt discussions about its meaning and the emotions it evoked.
One resident, Stephen, who couldn’t attend the club meeting, was inspired to write his own poem. He handed his creation to Jenny, the Lifestyle Coordinator, who carefully typed it up. Stephen’s poem was exceptional, filled with thoughtful words and emotions. The poem was so moving that it earned a special place on the wall within our home, a testament to the creativity and spirit of our wonderful community.
