Residents at Tanglewood Horncastle celebrate 77th Wedding Anniversary

A couple who moved to Lincolnshire on retirement 33 years ago, are now celebrating their 77^th Wedding Anniversary at Tanglewood Horncastle Care Home. Olive and Arthur met during the War in London.

The couple were married in 1946 when Arthur was in the army, Olive was an auxiliary nurse for many years until she retired.

When asked for the secret to a long marriage Arthur commented ‘To take your hearing aid out and switch it off.’

They received a lovely card from the King and Queen which was happily received and a wonderful cake that our catering staff prepared.

We received a letter from our wonderful couple thanking all the staff for making the occasion such a fuss, the couple said, ‘Being married for 77 years is a long time but we both agree life is what you make it, and we always look on the bright side of life.’

The couple are very popular with their family, friends, and team members at Tanglewood Horncastle, and the home loved celebrating a wonderful achievement and a lifetime of love.
