Residents, staff, family and friends of Sandpiper enjoyed a day of activities at our summer Faye which included singing, dancing, games, food/drinks, and a raffle. We had the good weather on our side, so we got to enjoy the day.
Our games consisted of connect four, Toss the Bags and Jenga which was a huge hit with team members children that had visited for the afternoon. We even had traditional stalls including, Tombola, Hook a duck.
Our hard-working kitchen staff laid on a great BBQ of burgers, hot dogs and pizzas and enjoyed some refreshments throughout the afternoon of hot drinks, mocktails and shandy’s that went down a treat.
This Year we welcomed back Dave Temple for our live entertainer. Dave is a country singer that we had the pleasure of entertaining us once before and the residents absolutely loved. Dave certainly knows how to get you on your feet.
One resident, Mike did not waste no time to get up to have a boogie with his wife. His huge smile just showed how much he was enjoying himself.
The residents all got involved with swinging their arms and singing along especially to their favourite song (Sweet Caroline) it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves.
We ended the day with the raffle which was a success and we raised £136 towards our resident’s social fund. We plan on using the money for some new games and help towards a punch and Judy puppet show that will be visiting sandpiper in the next couple of months.
