Sleaford Hall rings in Chinese New Year with joyful festivities

At Sleaford Hall, the celebration of Chinese New Year brought joy and creativity to residents, making it a memorable occasion. The home buzzed with excitement as everyone participated in designing vibrant Chinese lanterns. Armed with red card and sparkly glitter tape, they filled the spaces with colour and life. This year’s theme, the Year of the Snake, inspired residents to colour in snake pictures. These artworks were then laminated and thoughtfully transformed into unique place mats for the festive Chinese lunch.

The tables were beautifully adorned with red napkins, twinkling lanterns, and fortune cookies, setting an inviting scene for the celebration. The wonderful kitchen team, Leigh and Noella, outdid themselves by preparing a mouth-watering feast of sweet and sour chicken with fluffy egg fried rice.

Resident Betty, known for her love of traditional gravy dinners, hesitated at first when presented with the delightful Chinese meal. However, her inquisitive nature got the best of her, and she decided to give it a try. To her surprise, she found it delicious and even expressed a desire to enjoy it again in the future!

Laughter and smiles were abundant as residents savoured their meal, feeling embraced by the spirit of Chinese New Year. Sleaford Hall truly celebrated the occasion with warm camaraderie, marking the beginning of the Year of the Snake in style.
