Sleaford Hall welcomed guests once again for their Summer Fayre on Thursday, August 8th. Despite the blustery weather and a brief spell of rain later in the day, the event was successfully moved indoors. In the two weeks leading up to the fair, there was a flurry of activity as residents eagerly pitched in with preparations. Teddy bears for the tombola were cleaned by the laundry team before residents carefully attached tickets. Water and wine bottles were filled and placed in shiny bags, raffle prizes were collected and beautifully wrapped, and tickets were sold, folded, and boxed for the draw.
A delightful selection of cakes were prepared, including Rocky Road, Jam tarts, Bakewell tarts, Nanny’s coconut slices, and some scrumptious cupcakes from the kitchen team. The atmosphere was lively with a band playing hits from the 1950s and 60s, which had everyone singing, clapping, and even dancing along. Guests enjoyed burgers, sausages with onions and cheese, and plenty of refreshments.
The stallholders were fantastic and generously contributed prizes for the raffle. We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, as well as to the wonderful local businesses that donated to the raffle, including Tesco, Checkers Café, Co-Op Travel, WHSmith, Glow Tanning Centre, Indigo Art Gallery, Boots, and the many families and friends of Sleaford Hall. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, an impressive £330 was raised for the residents’ fund
