Successful annual Christmas fayre at Toray Pines

Saturday, 7th December, marked our annual Christmas Fayre here at Toray Pines. Excitement filled the air as residents warmly welcomed the public, along with family and friends, to join in the festivities.

Our Tombola stall, managed by team member Claire and resident Kath, was a popular attraction throughout the day. Guests also enjoyed guessing the number of sweets in the jar—a challenge that kept everyone engaged.

Children and adults alike had their faces beautifully transformed by Flutterby Face Painting, while festive music, performed by Aaron, set a cheerful tone with plenty of toe-tapping, dancing, and singing along. Santa himself worked tirelessly in his grotto, distributing gifts and listening to Christmas wishes from residents. Later, he made his way around the home to meet and greet those unable to visit the grotto.

As the afternoon unfolded, the kitchen team delighted us with a spread of delicious festive food. Guests were treated to Turkey & Cranberry or Pork & Apple rolls, which were thoroughly enjoyed—many even went back for seconds! To add to the warmth of the occasion, spiced cider and mulled wine were available, perfect for warding off the winter chill.

Later in the day, we had an unexpected visit from The Grinch! The mischievous character brought plenty of laughs as he playfully tormented staff and visitors, “stealing” prizes and giving out his signature Grinch kisses.

We ended the day with a spirited group sing-along to Christmas classics, capping off an unforgettable event. Thanks to the generous support of everyone who attended, we raised over £300 for our residents’ fund—a fantastic result!
