Last month, one of the dedicated carers from Tanglewood Horncastle, Sarah Baker, participated in the Race for Life event held at the Lincoln Showground. The race unfolded under ideal conditions, with the sun shining brightly in a clear sky and a gentle breeze providing just the right amount of relief for the runners.
Sarah joined the race as a proud member of Karen’s Slimming World group, driven by a personal and heartfelt mission. Reflecting on her motivation, she shared that she was determined to demonstrate the profound impact that medical research can have. Her inspiration comes from her mother, who was diagnosed with breast cancer 37 years ago at the age of 50. Remarkably, her mother has not only survived but is thriving at 87 years old. Sarah’s participation in the race was a tribute to the advancements in cancer treatment and research that have given her family more precious years together. It was a powerful reminder that, with continued support and funding, research can indeed save lives.
