What an absolute honour it was for our homes to walk with our amazing Tanglewood float in Spalding Flower Parade.
So many people turned out to watch the town’s first parade in a decade, it brought back lots of memories for us and left the next generation of Team Tanglewood in awe (and feeling like celebrities for the day!)
Our float looked amazing, we heard many compliments about it as we paraded through town, thank you to all of the residents in all ten Tanglewood homes (Holbeach Meadows, Cedar Falls, Avocet House, Hunters Creek, Richard House, Cloverleaf, Toray Pines, Tanglewood, Sandpiper and Meadows Park) for making their flowers over the past year, and to the families and members of the public who donated theirs to us, we couldn’t have done it without you! And a huge thank you to Team Cedar Falls Care Home, especially to Sue, for leading this project for Tanglewood Care Homes, they have worked amazingly hard to coordinate the other homes contributions and to build us such a beautiful float!
One loved one commented ‘I was very proud to see all my flowers on the float (I made all the memory roses for peoples loved ones) I got quite emotional when I saw it leaving the parade ground, I also made over 2000 flowers that was pinned on the float to say thank you to Tanglewood for looking after my dad’.
Cheryl Shorter Regional Manager commented ‘Well done and a big thank you to everyone for all their hard work getting this together. Thank you Sue for all your hard work and organisational skills! Well done team Tanglewood.
