Vegetable patch at Sandpiper Care Home

At Sandpiper Care Home we fundamentally believe that a resident’s life does not change when they enter one of our homes and in fact we provide them with the opportunity to continue taking part in everything they enjoy whilst the day-to-day needs are taken care of.

All activities are of course optional, but we like to encourage our residents to be involved to increase their social interaction, mental stimulation and most importantly enjoyment. To ensure we are planning activities around the likes of our residents’ monthly meetings are held to discuss likes, dislikes and interests.

As a result of these meetings Sandpiper have supported resident Norman to create his own vegetable patch with freshly grown, french beans, beetroot, and just recently tomatoes.

We are looking forward to seeing what Norman grows next and will be enjoying some freshly grown vegetables in our upcoming meals.
