Welcoming June to Humberston House
We’re overjoyed to introduce our newest resident, June Little, whose life story is a tapestry of love, family, and cherished memories. In 1953, June and Michael embarked on a lifelong journey together at Old Clee Church. Their adventure led them to Humberston Avenue, where they built not one, but three homes filled with love and laughter.
From the first home in 1956, where they moved in with their young daughter, to a second home just a few doors away, and finally, in the ’80s, crafting a third home in the back garden where Christine and Stephen grew up.
June, a true matriarch, not only raised her children but also contributed her talents to Hewitts Brothers Brewery and embraced the role of a bookmaker alongside her husband. The local community holds fond memories of June strolling down Humberston Avenue with Christine in her pram, creating a bond that lasts a lifetime.
In 2011, June and Michael made the decision to move to Waltham, gracefully transitioning as the seasons of life changed. Following the passing of her beloved Michael, June found comfort and a new home at Humberston House.
On her first day with us, while savoring her favorite meal, June shared with our staff how she found our home to be not just beautiful and tastefully decorated, but a place that truly feels like coming home.
Join us in extending a warm welcome to June!
